Bust / Chest

What to measure: the fullest part of the bust/chest.

  • Stand naturally with arms relaxed. Wear a non-padded bra (or no bra) for accuracy.
  • Keep the tape level and snug (not tight) around the back and across the fullest point.
  • For bra fitting, also measure the underbust (directly under the bust) and the upper bust (above the bust). These help with cup calculations.

Tip: if the tape rides up at the back, the measurement will read smaller than it should.

Waist

What to measure: the natural waist — the narrowest point, above the belly button.

  • Find the soft crease when you bend sideways — that’s your natural waist.
  • Hold the tape parallel to the floor; relax your stomach (don’t suck in).
  • For shapewear or corsets, measure comfortably then check each brand’s guidance for desired reduction.
Hips

What to measure: the fullest part of hips and bum.

  • Stand with feet together; keep the tape level around your seat.
  • The fullest point is usually 18–23 cm below the natural waist.
  • If your hip and waist fall in different sizes, choose based on the garment style (e.g., bodycon → hip, high-waist brief → waist).
Height & Hosiery

What to measure: your bare height (no heels) for stockings/tights charts.

  • Use height + weight (or hip) per brand chart. If between sizes, pick the larger for comfort and durability.
  • Taller customers may prefer styles marked “tall/long” for better rise and less sheerness at stretch points.

Pro tip: a light dusting of talc helps hosiery glide on without snagging.

Measure around the fullest part of your bust/chest with the tape level and snug (not tight). Keep arms relaxed. For bras or lingerie, wear a non-padded bra. If a bra fit is crucial, also record underbust (directly under the bust) and upper bust (above the bust).

Your natural waist is the softest narrow point above your belly button and below your ribcage. Stand naturally and keep the tape parallel to the floor—don’t suck in.

Stand with feet together and wrap the tape around the fullest part of your hips and bum (usually 18–23 cm below your waist). Keep the tape level all the way around.

Hosiery sizing is primarily height and weight. If you’re between sizes, choose the larger size for comfort and durability.

We present sizes in inches for the UK, and some brands supply charts in cm. Where needed, we convert values to keep the chart consistent.
